Handcrafted in BC Canada

So, about me...2018 has been an exciting year for me as I have taken my passion for jewellery into my own hands. My name is Ali and I am the creative mind behind Ali's Pebbies and Gems.
I believe we all deserve to feel beautiful regardless of economics so I try to have reasonable price points.

Seeing someone’s spirit lift when they find a piece that speaks to them gives me goosebumps, they sort of take a little bit of me along with them.

I have a profound commitment to the quality of each piece. I spend a great deal of time choosing the gems to ensure that they are of the highest quality and aesthetically pleasing. I source my gemstones both locally and all over the world. I honestly fall in love with each and every piece I create.

One of the main components I use is Karen Hill Tribe Thailand silver beads. The Karen Hill Tribe are silversmiths located in Northern Thailand and make all of their beads by hand, using traditional tribal methods, and primitive tools so a lot of work and detail go into each bead. They have a greater than 99 percent silver content so have a shine all of their own. These beads are both beautiful pieces of art as well as conversation pieces.

When I start to make a piece, I have an idea in mind of perhaps the stones I am going to use, but then I just let the creativity flow and see what emerges.
Each piece just sort of creates itself and I feel privileged to have found this way of expressing myself. I use a range of jewellery pliers in my process for wire wrapping and hope to continually educate myself and move on to silversmithing in the coming year.

My book-keeping background has been an immense help with the business aspect of my craft, and I realize that I have also had to become adept with social media, website design, photography and salesmanship. This has helped me not only to grow as a person, but also push me out of my comfort zone and enjoy the social interaction that naturally comes along with dealing with customers, other vendors and retailers.
Enjoy!
